A quick update to let you know what’s going on currently in AstoCAD. Build 42131 is up with two new features.
I have finished a last feature for TechDraw that I wanted to tackle. It is the ‘insert spreadsheet’ tool. You can check it out in this video : https://youtu.be/3MCjzF7DZaE
It will be the last TechDraw feature for some time, since the majority of you (through the survey) asked to split the focus more evenly on Sketcher and Assembly.
Then I have worked on a long standing missing feature : The 2 directions of Pad tool : It is now possible to specify a type for both sides (up to face, up to first…). Bringing one of the last missing functionalities of the extrude tool. See https://youtu.be/Vi6EwgsTaTA
I have also started spending more time on Sketcher and Assembly bugs. Reviewing, discussing etc. This will become one of my focus for the coming months. Fixing as many bugs as possible. And ideally I’ll do that in FreeCAD directly.
One last feature I have finished just recently (but it is not included in 42131) is the ability to use only some parts of sketches. It works only in selection -> tool and the UI (the task boxes) of the tools need to be adapted to this new capability. But it’s working! It was (painstakingly) ported from RealThunder’s branch.
Last I have started to work on a massive feature: Text in sketcher. Which is one of the last missing features in Sketcher. It is a relatively big feature so it will likely take me a while to set it up.
